Ice Skating Lessons are a great source to help with balance as a survivor. I was in classes most of my childhood during the winter and fall seasons. I grew up in the Chicagoland area and courses are more available than in the San Diego, CA area. Therefore; I have not been in courses since I was 14.
I always favor my right side and my left side (affected side) is not used as much. However; I think it was one of the best therapies.
Shoes; I had my own skates. I always tie my laces with my right hand and let my left hand follow or assist my right hand as a resource.
Advice: I enjoyed ice skating and if you are thinking of a way to work on balance, ice skating may be a good source. I did it.... You can do it!
It's also my favorite.Ice skating is such a sport that everyone love to learn as well as play.
