Saturday, June 3, 2006: I was interviewed by Artie Ojeda. I was there to represent the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association (Irvine/ San Diego/Greater Los Angeles Chapters) in support of the team; Training to End Stroke. The event was the 2006 San Diego Rock N Roll Marathon on Sunday, June 4, 2006.
This interview was my first and a memorable one. Both my parents and I went to the NBC Downtown location at 5 a.m. It was great; to share that moment with my parents that have always stood by my side and helped me live the most normal life I could.
The interview (less than 5 minutes) was full of laughter and I slipped on the chair before it started. However; it was perfect timing because I was smiling large and providing a great laugh. I inspired everyone that morning at NBC-American Heart/American Stroke and Training to End Stroke Team. It touched/touches my heart that I made an impact. The impact and comments from all -to date six years later still makes my heart full of happiness. The gift and impact on my life is great as this continued my opportunity to feel ok with who I am as a survivor. I will be forever grateful.
Thank you all!
